richmond justice program

Rooted in the values of Jesus, Virginia InterVarsity’s Richmond Justice Programs equip college students to pursue a lifestyle of biblical justice and love for neighbor.

Long before “justice” became a topic in our society, Scripture tells of God’s justice (“tzedek” or “mishpat” in Hebrew). God’s original plan was for His creation to live in harmony. When that plan is disrupted, God calls His people to participate in His justice. During RJP, students learn the true meaning of biblical justice and how to practically follow Jesus into compassion and service.

Student Testimonies

“RJP was a transformative program. It changed how I defined justice, how I view community, and taught me the importance of knowing the history of the area you’re living in.  -JMU student

“When I walked into this program, I didn't want to talk about justice issues, partly because I felt uneducated. Leaving this program, I have not only learned how to have a conversation about these things, but that I have a seat at the table even if all I should be doing is listening there.” -George Mason student

“The most influential aspect of the program was continuing to ask the question, " How is the Gospel good news?" It has helped me reflect on God's character and seeing him ever so present in my life.” -Tidewater Community College student

“Since being a part of RJP, it has truly changed me and my mindset. God has taught me so much about myself, about him and our relationship, and how he is using me as a vessel for those around me.” -UVA student

“RJP refreshed my faith and made God so much bigger by teaching me about his passion for justice. I am so blessed to have seen Christians worship in ways I never have before and experience a community of justice, faith, and putting prayer into action.” -William & Mary student
